ACID DRINKERS
www.acid-drinkers.com
I have a huge shiver of dread every time I see an album or song title containing anything pertaining to something metallic (be it metal or, in this case, steel). Usually, I can just run away and pretend I never saw it (Manowar, you can stay clear of me thank you). When it's a review, I don't have such an option. However, track one pleases with its modern take on euro-thrash, with pinches of electro-posturing. Things start to fall apart from thereon though. Track two is a little nu-metal for my liking, and features what I hope is an unintentional impression of Mrs Doyle ("go on, go on, go on"). Awesome. Coming across like a groovier cousin of Sweden's Face Down, Acid Drinkers (shit name by the way) will appeal to many a thrash, stoner, groove, hardcore fan across the duration of this multi-faceted, yet strangely generic, album of stomping Eurometal. Nothing particularly stands out as warranting repeat-listens for the casual observer. However, for the Polish band's fan-base (which, after nearly twenty years, I am sure is huge), this will most likely be toss-gravy all over their eager young faces. By the way, if the verses are indeed made of steel, what are the choruses made from? Oh, and I think Corrosion of Conformity want their riff from Track 3 they loaned you back. Interest free though. Much like this album.
