With their debut single ‘Surrounded by the White Men’, Antlered Man marked themselves out as unique. Their sound is quirkily raging, their humour dark, and their entertainment quota doth brimmeth over. They are an entity to themselves. And on top of their refusal to be pigeon-holed, they are fun – a fucking lot of fun! Utterly peculiar, they are a breath of fresh air with a hint of mint that gently burns the inside of your cheek. Irreverent and lunatic, Antlered Man draw from many and any and all sources for their sound, happily stealing all the shiny goodies from popular culture that they can get their hands on. Hypnotic rhythms, eccentric and thunderous bass-lines, cartoonish guitar lines, harsh fuzz riffs, whimsical whistles that could be from any number of kids TV shows, chaotic clashes, beautifully hilarious vocal harmonies, lyrics spat out like a dummy from the mouth of a spoilt and demanding child, and with lines like “What sick motherfucker would invent a man?”, what more could you ask of a band? If you want head-spinning musical mindfuckery that is at once childlike and intelligent, Antlered Man aren’t about to short-change anyone wanting a dose of unadulterated, inspired insanity.
