DR. SLAGGLEBERRY

Well, we're one bad review and one good review down for these guys so far, so can 'The Slagg Factory' tip the balance in the favour of these majesties of weird time signatures and crazy arrangements? Well, the short answer is yes. Thankfully, highlighted on the previous EP, the eradication of the painfully shoddy vocalising on the debut EP has given Dr Slaggleberry freedom to do what the hell they want musically. And shoe-horn it in they do. 'Feed me a Stray Cat' (Brian Setzer?) comes off as a disjointed Primus tune, with the big exception that Dr Slaggleberry don't have a bass guitarist. This doesn't matter though, as the down-tuned nature of the baritone guitar more than makes up for its absence. In fact, said guitar has a certain, gulp, nu-metalness about it. Don't run away though, because there are no track-suited twats singing about pussy here. Just good old fashioned spazzcore instrumentals. The production is meaty too, the drums sounding better than they ever have, perfectly punctuating the rhythms and confusing with their ever-changing signatures. Brilliant. Dr Slaggleberry, I love you!
