I think my translator is broken, because it tells me that the title of this single is ‘Blood and Lay’. Strange. Anyway, that's nothing like important, because I have just heard a truly awe-inspiring slice of Norwegian Black Metal. Nope, not symphonic or folk(ish). Nor any other new take on the genre. Just relentless, well written, crafted, black metal. Fairly mid-pace, but no less dark and brooding. Production is as it should be; thin and fuzzy. In fact it brings to mind Satyricon (before they smelt the dollar). It's pointless highlighting stand-out tracks; there's only two songs here after all. However, rest assured that if you love old-school black metal, you'll appreciate this release (as well as the fact it is a limited (500 copies) 7" vinyl). Awesome. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they were sold out.
