EVERGREEN TERRACE
www.myspace.com/evergreenterrace
The old adage goes something along the lines of "If you can't say anything nice about someone, don't say anything at all". Sadly, I do have to say something. I don't like 'Evergreen Terrace'. I don't like the outdated Simpson's reference in their name. I don't like the screaming over mad staccato riffs/harmonised singing over simplistic barre-chords approach they have borrowed from the worse elements of metalcore and emo. If Atreyu are your thing, then I suppose you and your stripy-tighted girlfriend might like to cry into your Diamond White over this, lamenting why your parents hate you. But, for all the grown-ups in the room, this is ear-raping tedium of the most banal. Don't entertain its existence, and for fuck's sake don't buy it for a laugh; you'll only encourage them to carry on making music. In fact I'm angry just thinking about it while typing this. This is lost time I will never get back, and Evergreen Terrace owe me big time.
