THE FOLLOWING ANNOUNCEMENT
www.thefollowingannouncement.co.uk
'Pop Punk'. It's an oxymoron too far. And here we have an album that would have sounded shit in 1996. Sadly even in today's Pop Punk infested world, this should only appeal to fans of Hannah Montana who "want to listen to something heavy". The singer is dreadfully weak, and often off-key. The guitar tone is straight out of a stomp box preset. The drums are largely uninteresting. I couldn't really hear the bass, so that's going to escape this diatribe. The only saving grace is the slightly off-kilter swing of 'Big In Japan'. And, you know what, they might just go down well with Japanese audiences foaming at the mouth for some mid-nineties crap. I don't enjoy bashing the work people have put into writing and recording but, seriously, this band should stop. Right now. Oh and there's a secret track too. Because one more song is just what I needed. "You've got it in for me" is sung during 'Hot Topic'. You might be right.
