GNAW THEIR TONGUES
www.myspace.com/gnawtheirtongues
The word 'death' features in every song on this album, which should come as no surprise once the cacophony ensues from minute one. This album sounds like hell. In fact, should hell exist, this could well be the lift music. The entirety of the album is ambient noise, the black metal way. I know there are people out there who love this stuff but, to me, it's the equivalent of watching paint dry in a very noisy subway station. It is art in the same way that Tracey Emin is art; random garbage thrown together to simulate the depths of the human psyche. To those in 'the know' it's incredibly deep, brimming with intelligence and sonic personal pain that only the artistic elite can comprehend. To everyone else, it's still just garbage. I cannot remark on any of the songs, because I just don't understand them. It was a chore listening to it once, never mind a second time. So, if you like this sort of thing, I don't know if I can recommend it or not. If, like me, you hate this sort of thing, this won’t change your mind.
