HEAVEN'S BASEMENT
www.heavensbasement.com
Heaven’s Basement formed in England in 2008 and have forged a growing reputation with extensive touring and an all action live show. They have supported high profile bands such as Bon Jovi, Papa Roach and Thunder as well as appearing at Bloodstock and Sonisphere. The band’s personnel which has changed a few times has been somewhat volatile of late but the line up has now crystallised into the latest member and vocalist Aaron Buchanan, guitarist Sid Glover, bassist Rob Ellershaw and Chris Rivers on drums. This 7 track EP is bristling with furiously driving, infectious and anthemic tracks of very high quality with ‘The Long Goodbye’, which features a massively riffed intro, and ‘Let Me Out Of Here’, which has a slower tempo and gradually builds and builds. This EP is well produced and the individual performances of the band members have been captured effectively. Perhaps the band picked up some production tips from Bob Marlette, producer of releases for Ozzy Osbourne, Black Stone Cherry and Alice Cooper, who worked with the band on their eponymous debut EP. Of particular note is the performance of Buchanan who, although having joined the band very recently, seems to have made the vocalist role his own. The band’s live shows, as previously mentioned, have already garnered rave reviews. If that isn’t incentive enough to want to go and see them, a few listens of this impressive EP should have you checking for their next lot of live dates.
