PLOY FOR EXTINCTION

Ploy For Extinction hail from Denver, Colarado in America and are certainly spreading their wings beyond their own shores to get their message heard, especially through the use of the internet. So onto this four track EP/Demo. My first thought is it’s a bit one dimensional, but is this a blessing or curse? I think this is one that will be decided fully in the future (as there is certainly enough in the music to come back to for more listens). For now, though, let’s look at it as a strength as, with this CD, Ploy for Extinction have certainly created songs worth listening to with a production (that although still within the realms of being a demo) is very good. I hope that this is testament to their hard work that I’d like to definitely hear what they sound like with a top notch professional production. A difficult band to quantify with their sound, certainly heavy and brutal when they want to be, to me, they almost have an early Prong sound - a band who made a whole successful career out of having a pretty much one dimensional sound. My recommendation is that you give Ploy for Extinction a chance, they have a vigour within their music that sometimes is lacking from more established bands and for this they must be applauded.
