SEPTEKH

Playing a dirty blackened rock 'n' roll punk not that far removed from Impaled Nazarene, Swedish band Septekh hit you straight away with their full on sound. The production is very strong on this, their second demo, with six intense (and interesting) tracks to listen to. A standard four piece band with vocals, guitar, bass and drums they show that you don’t need any other embellishments if your songs are good enough. Simplicity incarnate! By track three their stripped down sound takes on a dirtier feel keeping an edgy menace reminding me of modern Satyricon. By track five there is a real groove thrown into the mix, with a mighty riff most stoner doom bands will listen to and wish they had written. I must admit the title of the CD ‘Not Quite What You Had n Mind’ is pretty accurate and you know what? They were right!!! This is a very good demo that shows much promise from a band that already have a great sound and songs ready for a full album. I hope to hear more from this band in the future.
