THE BITTER TWINS
www.myspace.com/bittertwins
Global Panic? Well, a mild irritation certainly. An Indie/Ska band coming off as though they were playing bad cover versions of The Killers/Ordinary Boys really grips my shit. Yeah, this is a 'metal' site, but I appreciate music from all walks (except Reggae and modern R&B). So, I feel quite qualified to tell you this is shit of the highest order. Not just 'so bad it's worth a listen' but offensive to all five senses. In fact I almost can't be arsed to finish this review, never mind the CD in question. So, highlights then? The vocals on track 3 'Global Panic' are quite nice, accented with a decent harmony. Also, some of these tracks will sound alright on a pub jukebox. You know the type. Small town pubs that don't normally play anything beyond 1996. They might enjoy it whilst sinking gallons of cheap lager. In a live setting they might attract the usual middle age ‘rockers’ who can't get enough of Thin Lizzy. You know, the heavily made-up, pissed-up, tattooed lumpsters dancing with their pint in one hand and their other hand waving, eyes closed to really soak up the fun. Yeah, it's 50th wedding-anniversary disco shit at the end of the day. Bad points? Well, nearly all of it. Sorry lads.
